MOTHERS & FRIENDS
Created in 1958, Mothers & Friends provides financial support to supplement and to enhance the educational and spiritual environment of Mater Dei. The annual dinner auction, which is held in the spring, is their largest fundraiser, having raised over $1,000,000 for the benefit of our students! In addition, Mothers & Friends hosts the late night prom festivities, which provides our students a safe environment filled with food, fun, and prizes. Finally, Mothers & Friends sponsors both PlusPortals, an online interactive connection between home and school, and School Reach, an automated notification system.
FATHERS & FRIENDS
Created in 1958, Fathers & Friends provides financial support to supplement and to enhance the facilities and athletic programs of Mater Dei. Often times, the members also provide the manual labor required to complete projects. In addition to 50/50 drawings at athletic events, Fathers & Friends sponsors a monthly cash raffle (see information below), a breakfast on Palm Sunday, a Mega Raffle, and the Mater Dei Golf Classic. In conjunction with Breese Motors, they have also hosted three successful “Drive One 4 UR School” events, which have raised a total of $22,000! As a result of these fundraising activities, Fathers & Friends has funded renovations to the restroom facilities at the athletic stadium; renovations to the playing surfaces of the football/soccer, baseball, and softball fields; and the installation of a new score board and sound system in the gymnasium.
Fathers & Friends Monthly Cash Raffle A yearly subscription ($12) provides the buyer one entry into each month’s raffle, the winners of which are drawn at the monthly meeting. Each month, three winners are drawn. To purchase a subscription, please return the Fathers & Friends Monthly Cash Raffle Order Form, with payment, to Mater Dei.
BAND PARENTS
Band Parents provides both financial support and volunteers for programs and activities that enhance the experiences of our musicians. In the fall, they sell concessions at all home football games. In the winter, they host a “Knight at the Races” horse racing event. Additional small fundraisers, which vary each year, are used to raise funds to offset the cost of major activities, such as recent trips to New Orleans and New York. As a result of these fundraising activities, Band Parents has provided funds for uniforms, instruments, instrument repairs, flags, music and additional staff.
