SPECIAL EVENTS:\r\n\r\nMajor Gift Mass\r\n\r\nThe Office of Advancement has been planning and hosting a Major Gift Donor Mass and Recognition Reception since 2014 in September at 7 pm.\r\n\r\nGolden Knights\r\n\r\nThe Office of Advancement has been hosting a Golden Knight Recognition in conjunction with the Homecoming Game since 2008.  This recognition and reception is meant to honor our alumni who have reached the 50th year of anniversary of their graduation from Mater Dei. At the 2015 Homecoming Game, 35 alumni were recognized from the Classes of ’55 through ’66.\r\n\r\nMemorial Mass\r\n\r\nThe Office of Advancement has held a Memorial Mass since 2009 in November (around the third or fourth Monday) to remember all those for whom a donation was made to the Foundation the previous school year.\r\n\r\nGrandparent Mass\r\n\r\nThe Office of Advancement has been planning and hosting a Grandparent’s Day Mass since 2011 in conjunction with Campus Ministry and the Religion Department also in November (around All Saint’s Day) at 9:35am.\r\n\r\nCalendar Drive\r\n\r\nFor thirty years the Mater Dei Calendar Drive has been an annual campaign drive under the direction of the Advancement Office and has become a very important part of the total fundraising effort of the school.  The calendar is a 365-day raffle that highlights all the activities that occur during the school year.  The calendar drive attempts to raise $85,000.00 a year to the operating cash flow of Mater Dei High School.\r\n\r\nThe key component to this successful campaign is the support and efforts of the Mater Dei community.  The student body is the main group responsible for the success of the drive.  Each student is expected to sell at least eight calendars.  Mater Dei depends on the student body to carry the load during the campaign.  Parents, friends, teachers (especially homeroom teachers, as this is where the calendar money is collected each day during the drive) and administrators are all involved in this campaign.  Generally, Mater Dei sells over 4,400 calendars annually.  The cost of the calendar is $25.00 with a total payout of $21,150.00 in prize money.\r\n\r\nCalendars are available from Mater Dei students or by calling the Mater Dei Office (618-526-7216).  Calendars can be sent to anyone wishing to purchase one.\r\n\r\nMater Dei Christmas Tournament Ad Booklet\r\n\r\nThe Christmas Tournament Book is a 80 page booklet with sold advertising, rosters, facts and information for the Annual Mater Dei Christmas Tournament.  It is for sale at the tournament and revenue raised is added to the general fund of the school.  Businesses and individuals are invited to submit copy for the Ad booklet, various size and pricing is available upon request by calling the Mater Dei Office (618-526-7216).\r\n\r\nMEGA Raffle\r\n\r\nThe newest fund raiser called the MEGA Raffle (which replaced the Pot-of-Gold Raffle) is a joint effort between the Fathers & Friends Organization and members of the Mater Dei School Board.  Held in conjunction with the Annual Golf Scramble, raffle tickets sell for $100.0 with a total pay out of $20,000.00, with the top prize of $10,000.00, (2) $2,500.00, (3) $3,000.00, (20) $100.00.\r\n\r\nRaffle tickets are available beginning the end of March and can be obtained from your parish representatives or by calling the Mater Dei Office (618-526-7216).\r\n\r\nGolf Tournament\r\n\r\nThe Mater Dei Golf Tournament is an opportunity for Mater Dei alumni, parents, friends and supporters to contribute to Mater Dei Catholic High School.  The day is filled with fun and friendship for everyone who participates.  There are men, ladies and mixed divisions.  The tournament is sponsored by the Office of Advancement.  Proceeds go toward the operational fund of Mater Dei Catholic High School.\r\n\r\nThe tournament provides a great opportunity for Mater Dei teachers, staff, administration, alumni and friends to join together in a day full of fellowship.  The public relations aspect of this event is invaluable to Mater Dei Catholic High School.  The Mater Dei Golf Tournament is the highlight of the summer for the Mater Dei community.\r\n\r\nThe tournament consists of a six-person scramble.  The fee includes the green fees for 18 holes, cart rental, refreshments and food throughout the tournament.  A dinner and awards presentation conclude the activities of the day.  The Annual MEGA raffle is held in conjunction with the golf tournament each year.\r\n\r\nIn 2015, we experienced a record turn out with 305 players participating with 26 teams in the morning session and 25 teams in the afternoon session.  Same the date for this year’s 27th Annual Mater Dei Golf Tournament to be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Governors Run Golf Club in Carlyle.\r\n\r\n
